Minutes SCRS meeting 7/12/07 at Little New York Restaurant, West Hollywood.


Meeting called to order at 7:00pm by Dr. Klashman, who welcomed our guest speakers.

Dr. Klashman asked for and received approval for the minutes of the previous meeting in March 2007.

Treasury report was given by Dr. Venuturupalli. Revenue for 2007 to date amount to $12,000 of which $6000 was from grants and the remaining from membership fees. Expenses year to date were $9000 of which $8000 were towards meeting costs. The bank balance as of May 31 2007 was $34000.

Mireya Pena gave a presentation about various partnerships between physicians and the arthritis foundation. The members expressed interest in continuing the special relationship between the arthritis foundation and SCRS.

Dr. Boris Rattiner acknowledged the sponsors and introduced Dr. Bill Robinson, who proceeded to give a very insightful and interesting presentation on the rationale for use of tyrosine kinase inhibitors in rheumatology.

Then Dr. Rattiner introduced Kathryn Mcguigan, Esq. who spoke about potential legal issues in terminating employees. This was a well received presentation, which lead to many questions.

Dr. Klashman called the meeting to adjournment at 9:00 pm.

-- SCRS DINNER/LECTURE, October 11, 2007--- SCRS is happy to announce the Next Dinner/Meeting/Lecture will be on October 11, 2007. The topic will be an important lecture regarding Medicare: Trends to expect in 2008, by our guest speaker, Bruce Quinn, MD. The meeting will take place at Little New York restaurant, 7316 Santa Monica Blvd., West Hollywood, CA.
